Zombie

With a love for Halloween, creativity and two straight weeks of hard work; my crew and I were able to create this stunning music video for my single Zombie.

Quarantine Corner

This project began as several different pieces of work that I combine. After Covid restrictions shut down in person education, many of my courses were moved online. At this time, I was living with my grandmother and extended family and often found myself stuck in my room with my thoughts. I began writing this song “Quarantine Corner.” Later I developed the concept for my music video as a commentary of the Covid Crisis and a project for my Coloring course designed to teach us how to color correct images and video properly and professionally. I created this one woman project from start to finish doing everything from lighting, recording, editing, producing and singing the song. All from the safety of my bedroom at the time.

WhoisZoha?

As an artist I have found collaboration and experimentation are my favorite parts of the creative process. Music is an escape for me that allows me to creatively express the thoughts and daydreams I experience. Frequencies and vibrations. Waves and rays. Light and sound is truly my passion. Everything I create, I begin with a fresh mindset. While I may have wisdom from previous experiences, I find it important to approach every project with the understanding that it will be unique and different from all other projects.

This is the way that I have come to produce and compose music and write songs. I approach every song with a new feeling or emotions that relates to many aspects of my life, relationships and conscious experiences. Experimenting with a variety of sounds and genres has allowed me to explore many facets of my personality and develop relationships with other unconventional people to create our own original art works.

Daydreaming

Produced by Saint Lewis, this collaborative single is one of many songs that we have worked on. Saint Lewis is an artist based in Chicago who I met while attending Columbia College Chicago. Our friendship began when we created our first fully produced EP RGB Daydreaming is a bubbly, triphop song that allows the listener to relate to the chaos in my songwriting and vocals yet remains smooth and vibrant thanks to Saint Lewis’ melodic composition and mastering.

The cover art seen here is illustrated by the talented artist Blu.

RGB

The first collaboration of many that I produced with Saint Lewis. RGB is an experimental pop EP made to represent additive color mixing in lighting. This involves adding different colors of light together to produce new colors and is used in many lighting technologies, including computer screens, televisions, and stage lighting. When all three primary colors (red, green, and blue) are added together in equal amounts, they create white light. When learning about this in my lighting classes I was inspired to write this EP. I later composed each song into a ukulele track/ demo that I brought to Saint Lewis. His experimental drumbeats and intelligent melodies combine with my vocals allowed for us to create what is now our first original work and EP together, RGB.

At Night

A collaborative EP produced with Here Lies, a classically trained musician based in Houston. This Halloween themed EP explores classic stories like Pandora’s Box and Frankenstein and reshapes them into a modern and experimental perspective. From future pop synthesizers on Slave to acoustic ukulele on Starry Night this EP covers a wide range of genres and sounds. Inspired by producers like son lux and Gotye this EP definitely explores a surrealist mind and dystopian energy.
